You Saw it Here First
And now, on with the show…

So…. apparently I can’t put audio into these posts. Above the post box it says “add audio”, but once you click the button it takes you to a general media uploading window (in which you can only choose various picture and presentation formats… no audio).

Once again, disappointed.

Hey everyone. Small victory tonight, but I thought I’d share it. I replaced my rear license plate lights with “cool white” LEDs. I’ve started to replace all of my lights on the car with LED’s. As you can see from the pictures, the white LED is instantly classier than the yellow bulbs that were inside before. Sorry for the blur, but it was dusk, and my camera isn’t great in low lights.

On the left side is before (standard filament bulb), on the right side is after (white LED).

At first glance, the bulbs look pretty close in terms of brightness. But if you look at the intensity at the center of the light, the LED is definately brighter. Also, you can see that when the bulbs shine onto the ground past the plates, the white LED is the only light you can see on the ground. Proving that you will be able to see the light from farther away.

I have some pictures of lights that I exchanged with LED’s on my motorcycle, maybe I’ll put those up for fun later.

So after the recent accident, (see previous post), I took the car to Maaco. I had heard bad things about their car painting service, but I didn’t care. My car is 19 years old and I don’t really see the point of pouring money into it. I just want something that drives well, and looks nice on the outside. Who cares if they use cheap paint?

After getting the car back, I was really surprised. They did such a better job than I expected. The paint was shiny, and the car looked better than it ever has in its lifetime. Take a look at the improvement!

As you can see, I added a new set of clear corner lights. They look better than the amber ones that used to be on (in my opinion). I re-painted the hub-caps, installed new lights, and washed the car :)

I also added a new front grill, clear front turn signal lights, and took off the front license plate :0

I’ll keep adding updates as I fix things on the car. My next project is to install LED bulbs into all the exterior lighting. That way the lights will be brighter, and never burn out. When I’m done with the car I will have only spent about $100 out of pocket for all of the lights and grill. Totally worth it to give it new life :)

Some of you may know that I was in a recent accident. My poor little Honda Civic was smashed in the side by a green Integra. (At least I think it was). Luckily it wasn’t my fault, and I knew I would be getting paid for the accident. We ended up going through the other guy’s insurance, and my car was “totaled”, albeit still driveable. So i decided to get it fixed for a small price, and pocket the rest of the money :) Here are some pictures right after the accident:

Pretty Ugly :( Check out the black goo inside the corner lights. The paint was chipping, the lights have holes in them, the body is obviously dented. Check the next post for the “after” pictures!

Hey everybody!

A few of my friends said I should start a blog. (Jacob, Long). So I thought I could post some interesting stuff. I love showing “how-to’s” and projects that I work on. What better place than this? It seems like I’m always doing creative projects and I would like to share them with you. :)

Talk to you soon!
